Press Conference-LIVE IRC Chat and Apres Blogging
Just a little reminder for everyone:
Per CNN, the President's rare, unusual, hardly ever done, once-a- yearish-if-he-feels-like-it press conference has been rescheduled from its original time of 8:30PM-EDT, to 8:00PM-EDT.
Tonight, on the IRC (CHAT ROOM), we will be deconstructing the frames (and maybe a few other things...people..) that President Bush will be using tonight in his attempt to bolster his Social Security debacle.
Join us after 8 pm EST. Discussions and blogging will ensue.
We WELCOME new participants! You have to download a small piece of java software if you do not already have it. The link is provided on the DCP Live Chat page.
If you have trouble logging in, please let the tech staff know HERE.

Oh...I'm so excited. Can't help wondering if he'll look like Bush 1, Bush 2, or Bush 3 from the debates. Which personality will show up tonight?
How ironic Bush says he cares about debt! Since he created it, he should care. And notice, he doesn't care about personal family stress that causes debt...he just signed the bankruptcy bill which will take away the homes of average Americans while leaving rich people like him (who declared bankruptsy twice) to still keep their mansions.
I guess everyone is in the irc. Come on in and join the discussion!
If you can't get in the IRC then join the discussion here.
What a lovely evening--if you missed the IRC you missed a glorious get together. The discussion was lively and exciting. I loved David Gregory going back on his religion question. I think Frist got hung out to dry.
And, anyone but me thinking that DeLay questions were forbidden in advance? I know that if I had been there, I sure would have wanted a shot at that one.
Oh--and, still NOTHING is W's fault, some things just never change......
I had to work so caught the last part - someone asked him if people like Cheney might profit from the energy plan & he got all riled!
I read advance stuff though & heard a little NPR discussion (not that enlightening). & noticed the Voice of America website even had shortwave frequencies if you wanted to listen in Bagdad, Basra or Mosul.
If I were a reporter I'd ask, "So, Mr President, what is your analysis of how the civil war is going in Iraq?"
Terror suspects are taken to other countries in order to "keep them out of harms way."
Gvie me a break.
I wonder if the news conference was not just a way to distract from the disgraceful budget resolution now being passed . . .
