MIDWEEK BULLETIN FROM POLLY
Polly, please don't forget to journal, my dear.I mean, journal every single little itty bitty steamy, er....*ahem* detail. You may not think we lumpen masses care about every detail, and while the lumps on my left don't, and the masses on my right don't either, I certainly do. I want to hear about EVERY SINGLE LITTLE ITTY BITTY, TEENY WEENIE DIRT er......*ahem* - thing. In the interest of Homeland Security, of course.

I met up with Polly Sigh at an undisclosed location (Murky Coffee). The following conversation, was, no doubt, videotaped, audiotaped, lip-read, transcribed, and disseminated throughout "offical Washington":
Me: Polly--whatcha' been up to?
Polly: Well, in addition to my official duties, which I will discuss later, I attended the National Powwow here in Washington: a gathering of tribes from across the nation. It was a great thrill--as you know, there are a great number of Native Americans in my home land of Andersonia. I saw many friends there, but the most exciting thing at the Powwow was seeing, in the flesh, in person, four of the original Navajo code talkers.
It was a great honor to see them and to see people lining up to get their autographs. They are truly warriors and patriots. Also during the powwow, in an intermission from the tribal dancing, a young Native American soldier who had recently returned from Iraq was introduced. He had just been released from Walter Reed Medical Center. He lost both legs below the knee, and he was honored during the powwow, receiving a standing ovation. As is customary in native cultures, all the dancers of every conceivable age and size, lined up to shake his hand, give their thanks and give him gifts. Native Americans value their veterans deeply.
Me: Interesting, Polly. Do you think the rest of the culture does NOT honor our veterans?
Polly: Well, I think we honor them in words. I would like to see a little more honoring in deeds. We need to make sure that our veterans receive all the medical, financial, and educational support they need to succeed in their lives following their sacrifice and service. No excuses, no beauracratic hold up. We need to get it done for these patriots. They were there for us, and we need to be there for them. That is our promise and our duty as Americans.
Me: I know that you cannot discuss a lot of your work, but can you tell us anything about your meeting with "X"?
Polly: Of course, you know that "X" has the most beautiful eyes that I have ever seen, and is basically physically magnificent in every way... a sublime intellect, a voice like silk in a gentle breeze, and eyes that dance with humor... really the feelings that are stirred in me are quite...
Me: Polly? Polly? Return to the planet?
Polly: Of course. My apologies. I really don't know what comes over me... In any case, what I can tell you about my meeting with "X" is that my contact with our target has been very productive. I have provided "X" with valuable information relating to the activities of our target, and I will continue to pursue this individual with all the espionage skills at my disposal. Which are, of course, considerable.
Me: good, good. Can you tell us how we, at the DCP, can help you achieve your goals?
Polly: The individuals of the DCP, as patriotic Americans, can work every single day to expose and destroy corruption in our government. Information is power. Your work on the internets is a valuable communication tool that is reaching millions of Americans. I will watch with interest your work to bring people together who share concerns about the future of our country. It's like a giant cocktail party online...without, of course, some dim bulb dropping the chicken wing on your new party frock. I'm very supportive and appreciative of your work here at the DCP.

Destruction of crosses angers fallen GI's mother
By Elisabeth Bumiller The New York Times
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 17, 2005
CRAWFORD, Texas Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a soldier killed in Iraq who has set up a vigil near President George W. Bush's ranch here, said Tuesday that she was "very disturbed" that a local resident had mowed down hundreds of small crosses bearing the names of other dead American troops, and that her now 10-day protest was "only the beginning" of what she described as a growing national movement to bring all American men and women home from the war.
In reaction to growing anger from many local residents, Sheehan's supporters said she would probably move "Camp Casey," her increasingly crowded roadside encampment named after her son, to a 300-acre, or 120-hectare, piece of property even closer to Bush's ranch. Her supporters said that the owner of the property was sympathetic to their cause, but that they could not release his name until a deal was complete.

On Monday evening, the police arrested a local resident who had used a truck to mow down about half of the 500 small wooden crosses hammered into the roadside dirt. The crosses were put back in place by Sheehan's supporters on Tuesday as flowers continued to arrive at the site from around the United States.
"What happened last night is very disturbing to all of us, and it should be really disturbing to America," Sheehan said. "Because no matter what you think about the war, we should all honor the sacrifice of the ones who have fallen. And to me it's so ironic that I'm accused of dishonoring my son's memory, by doing what I'm doing, by the other side, and then somebody comes and does this."

Antiwar protester Sheehan to move campsite

By Caren Bohan
CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - Antiwar protester Cindy Sheehan, whose son was killed in Iraq, is moving her camp closer to President George W. Bush's Texas ranch.
The piece of private property was offered by a relative of a man who had a fired shotgun in frustration over the protests, a source in the Sheehan camp said. The property owner is also a veteran.
"A neighbor of President Bush's has offered us his land," the source said. "It's got plenty of acreage for us, it's private land, we would have legal permission to be on it, it's much closer to the ranch -- in fact it's across the street from his (Bush's) church."
"We have taken him up on his offer," the source added.
Sheehan was not immediately available for comment.
Sheehan was expected to begin moving as early as Wednesday morning.
She is in the 10th day of her vigil on Prairie Chapel Road, which leads to Bush's 1,600-acre (647.5-hectare) ranch. She calls her site "Camp Casey," after her 24-year-old son who was killed in combat in Iraq.
According to the source, the land offered to Sheehan is owned by Fred Mattlage, who is a distant cousin of Larry Mattlage, a man who fired a shotgun over the weekend in frustration over the commotion caused by the vigil.
The source said Fred Mattlage made the offer saying "I'm a veteran, I support what you all are doing and I want to offer you my land."
Sheehan, of Vacaville, California, has demanded a meeting with Bush at which she said she wants to call for the withdrawal of all U.S. troops from Iraq.
While Bush has expressed sympathy for Sheehan's grief, the White House has declined a meeting. Sheehan previously met with Bush in 2004 but wants to talk to him face-to-face again. Continued ...

Not only does this woman speak from the heart, she knows how to frame the message!!!
I am deeply saddened by the destruction of the memorial. Has anyone DARED go violate the Vietnam Memorial in DC and has anyone DARED to destroy Arlington Memorial (cemetary)? What about the WWII memorial?
Those memorials can symbolize one "accepted" war and one "not accepted" war and yet protestors have honored the memorial and the lives of those lost in honorable duty.
How DARE they assume that it's ok to raze any memorial because they don't like the protest of the President. This President has INTENTIONALLY wiped his scummy feet on those who question his filthy actions and he has intentionally used hate and anger to make his way to the top. He's also violated every moral and ethical code of behavior and has in fact violated the laws of this land.
I hope this indecent act will expose this thief in chief for what he is and what his "friends" are. They are hate mongers and war mongers and have NO RESPECT for anyone except themselves. AND they're BEHAVIOR deserves no respect!!!
Desecration of the memorial says those soldiers' deaths were nothing.
BushCo's denial of deaths has been as effective as their sanction of torture.

NOVA
BATTLE PLAN UNDER FIRE
An unmanned spy plane spots a group of terrorists driving a car and fires a deadly salvo from the sky. "Smart bombs" zero in on a target, pinpointing a specific floor in a specific building. Real-time images and reports stream in from the front line, giving commanders an all- seeing eye on enemy troops. In this hi-tech battlefield, electronic intelligence allows U.S. commanders a huge advantage to streamline their forces and minimize casualties both to civilians and their own ranks. That was the vision of the "smart war" that drove the planning of U.S. campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq. But as America mobilized its war on terror, things didn't turn out quite as planned. In an exclusive collaboration with New York Times television reporters, NOVA investigates the impact of advanced technology on President Bush's war-fighting machinery. With fresh analysis of key battles in the Iraq conflict, the Times' reporters pose searching questions such as: are expensive hi-tech weapons all that it takes to defeat elusive enemies such as terrorists and civilian militias?

If you haven't seen these pictures from this weekend, then please check them out. Think of the little girls who tenderly placed the flag by each cross, even though the were the children of Bush supporters.

Now, think of the flags muddy and broken, laying on the ground torn to shreds.
Sort of seems like our country after Bushco.
{{{ The Chicken Hawk-in-Chief has to get out of town...! :-) Notice, however, that he's going to talk about the 'war on "terr-a-ism" - so they're back to trying to scare people into being sheeples again....}}}

President Bush to Visit Idaho Next Week
BOISE, Idaho - President Bush will make his first trip to Idaho next week, spending Monday evening and Tuesday vacationing in the lake and resort region near Donnelly and then speaking about the war against terrorism at the agricultural community of Nampa on Wednesday.
The president will fly to Boise on Air Force One Monday evening after attending a Veterans of Foreign Wars conference in Salt Lake City, according to a White House spokeswoman.
Hangar space has been reserved for Marine One, the presidential helicopter, at the McCall Airport in Valley County, about 100 miles north of Idaho's capital city on the two-lane State Highway 55. From there, it's just 10 miles to Donnelly, where the new Tamarack Resort ski and golf club opened last December.
"He will remain overnight in Donnelly," said Dana Perino, a White House spokeswoman, during a press briefing in Crawford, Texas, where President Bush is vacationing at his ranch.
"Tuesday, there are no public events, still he will be in Donnelly, Idaho," Perino said. "And Wednesday, August 24th, the president will make remarks on the war on terror, and that's in Nampa."
The Idaho Center in Nampa, a performing-arts and sports arena that can hold 12,600 spectators, has been reserved for a potential appearance by the president at a rally with military personnel and their families.
White House aides declined to confirm where Bush would be staying in Donnelly, or whether the Nampa event would take place at the Idaho Center.
Bush plans to return to Texas after Wednesday's terrorism address, Perino said.
His visit follows a stopover in Boise by Vice President Dick Cheney on Monday evening to help raise money for the 2008 re-election campaign of U.S. Sen. Larry Craig (news, bio, voting record), R-Idaho. Cheney's trip was part of a swing through Western states, including Montana, where he stumped for conservative lawmakers.

I'll drink to that!
Another great thing about attending a cocktail party on the internets is that you can drop your own chicken wing on your own party frock, and you don't even have to drive home.
"One of Mr. Taft's most ardent supporters, Greg Hartmann, a Republican Party leader in Cincinnati, where Mr. Taft was born and had launched his political career, called for the governor to resign because of the conviction.
"He's the highest elected official in the state and should be held to a higher standard," Mr. Hartmann said. "He's had a zero-tolerance policy for this kind of thing."
Mr. Taft brushed aside questions about a possible resignation, even if Republican leaders call for it.
"I want to remain as governor," he said. "I have many things to do between now and the election next year."
Top Democrats also stopped short of calling for Mr. Taft's resignation, rather saying that lawmakers must rid the state of a "culture of corruption that is much bigger than Bob Taft and his golfing habits."
"We now have a national reputation for corruption," said the Ohio House Democratic leader, Chris Redfern.
Judge Froehlich told Mr. Taft that he personally must acknowledge his mistakes to Ohioans and apologize to them in a letter to be written within a week.
"From the shores of Lake Erie to the banks of the Ohio River, the people of Ohio must hear your statement," the judge demanded."
